First Grade Library Media Lessons

I encourage every first grader to check out a different book every day.  Reading skills greatly improve when children practice reading for 15-20 minutes every day with an adult or older sibling.

September 10 Read Clouds by Tomi DePaola Nature - Clouds - show different types of clouds on the Smartboard.  Draw clouds.
September 17 Book location skills in E section Author Study:  Barbara Park
September 24 Read Franklin and the Thunderstorm by Paulette Bourgeois Science: Thunderstorms Tear paper and glue on paper to make a scene with a thunderstorm.
October 1 Reading is Fundamental  RIF Activity
October 8 Read Hurricane by David Wiesner Science: Hurricanes: After viewing hurricane information from enchantedlearning and Tracking a Hurricane, students will plot a hurricane path on a map.
