August 27 Read  The Very Lonely Firefly by Eric Carle.  Point out that the firefly is looking for other fireflies--alike/different Sorting objects/graph it using the SmartBoard
September 3 Read The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle Students will draw their own catepillar/  S handout
September 10 Read Armadillo Rodeo by Jan Brett or The Biggest Bear by Ward Letter B: Listen for But and I .  Color a Boot. Practice sheet B.
September 17 Read The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle by Beatrix Potter or Tomboy Trouble by Wyeth Make a tree from the letter T.
September 24 Read The Napping House by Wood and There's a Nightmare in my Closet by Sendak Color an N.  Practice writing an N.  Write some N words.
October 1 Scholastic Bookfair Each child chooses a book to keep.
October 8 Read Strega Nona retold and illustrated by Tomie de Paola. Complete the N word search. Practice writing an N

October 22 Reading is Fundamental  
October 29 Read Clifford's First Halloween by Bridwell. Complete a Halloween counting handout.
