TERMS TO LEARN

Copy and paste this page to a MSWord document.  Look up the words using an online computer dictionary.   Follow the steps below.

Step one: Type the word into the search bar of the dictionary.

Step two:  Make sure you get the computer definition if there is a distinction between the definitions listed.  For example:  If you key in "capacity" you'll get 9 definitions.  Number 7 is the one you would copy and paste.

Definition:  
  1. [n]  the maximum production possible; "the plant is working at 80 per cent capacity"
  2. [n]  a specified function; "he was employed in the capacity of director"; "he should be retained in his present capacity at a higher salary"
  3. [n]  tolerance for alcohol; "he had drunk beyond his capacity"
  4. [n]  ability to perform or produce
  5. [n]  the power to learn or retain knowledge; in law, the ability to understand the facts and significance of your behavior
  6. [n]  an electrical phenomenon whereby an electric charge is stored
  7. [n]  (computer science) the amount of information (in bytes) that can be stored on a disk drive; "the capacity of a hard disk drive is usually expressed in megabytes"
  8. [n]  the amount that can be contained; "the gas tank has a capacity of 12 gallons"
  9. [n]  the susceptibility of something to a particular treatment; "the capability of a metal to be fused"

Step three:  Cut and paste the definition for each word.

Step four:  Retype the definition in your own words using blue as the font color.
