Second Grade

Second grade is a time to learn and do many things.  This is the time for enjoying our favorite stories.  Some of us have missing front teeth.  We like being writers and illustrators.  We are getting better at checking our work.  Sometimes we work alone and sometimes in groups.  We learn lots of new things in mathematics.  Second grade is a year for discovering new things!

Dear Families,

     Below is a list of supplies that your child will need for second grade.  We will send a reminder after the second nine weeks to replace some of the supplies.  Please put your child’s name on his/her supplies.

  1. backpack (one that doesn’t roll)

  2. 2 plastic folders with pockets

  3. spiral notebook (wide ruled) for journals

  4. pencil bag that zips

  5. pencils

  6. 2 highlighters

  7. 2 dry erase markers

  8. 2 glue sticks

  9. box of  8 crayons

  10. scissors

  11. second grade handwriting paper with dotted lines

  12. large box of Kleenex

  13. large container of baby wipes

  14. a pack of addition and subtraction flashcards

  15. 4 tennis balls
