All elementary teachers working in Johnson County met in June at a systemwide inservice to discuss teaching practices and policies. Teachers decided that all teachers throughout the county should have the same policies regarding homework. After reviewing studies completed on the importance of homework, it was decided that elementary students should have no more than thirty minutes of homework nightly plus nightly reading.
