Food City awards
schools through the Apples for the Students program. Students
from Mountain City Elementary will be given a barcoded number
which is scanned during the check-out process beginning August
24, 2008 and continuing through April 4, 2009. This barcode
alerts the system of the number of points Mountain City
Elementary has earned. Food City then donates funds based on the
points earned for the school to purchase educational equipment
and tools.
