Mountain City Elementary School partnered with the Food Lion Charitable Foundation, Inc.  to provide funding for upgrading and enhancing technology in classrooms.  The $2,500.00 grant was used to purchase airliners to use with SMARTboards in six classrooms.  

Many of our families also participate in the the LionShop and Share program.  It is an easy and convenient way to raise money for our school.  Parents register and each time they shop and use their MVP card, a portion of their total grocery purchase is donated to Mountain City Elementary School.

MCE was also the recipient of a $1,500.00 grant from Food Lion for the 2008/2009 school year.  This money will be spent to purchase Airliner Wireless Slates to be used with our SmartBoards
