Mountain City Elementary School received a grant in
the amount of $500.00 from the Johnson County
Community Foundation Fund of East Tennessee
Foundation. The grant will be used to support
expansion of the “It’s a Small World” project and an
Olympic Day celebration with a “Parade of
Countries.” Fourth grade students will study
world cultures, the colonization and settlement of
our country, and their own family’s heritage.
Grades kindergarten through sixth will choose a
country to study and represent at the May Olympic
Day celebration. Grant funds may be used to support
the purchase of library books to support reading and
research for both projects. |
