Associates
and advisors of Hanesbrands have initiated the
Adopt-a-School Program with the students, teachers, and
administrators of the Johnson County System. Since 1991
support has included volunteer time, shirt donations,
awards, incentives, and direct funding of various
projects and events. Hanesbrands personnel believe
quality education for young people is of utmost
importance and want to be involved in the schools on an
annual basis.
For the
2008-2009 school year Hanesbrands is offering
mini-grants as a means of creating new enthusiasm in
teachers and students, and to provide innovative
teaching methods that otherwise might not be available
due to lack of funding. Teachers in all grade levels may
apply for individual grants of $150 or schoolwide grants
up to $350. A Hanesbrand Review Committee will look for
projects that will enrich the current curriculum,
demonstrate innovation, creativity, and excitement
and/or provide a needed item with can be utilized by an
entire school now and in the future.
Teachers at our school
wrote and received $3,985.96 in mini grants from Hanes
Brand for the 2008/2009 school year. Teachers receiving
this monetary support were able to buy approved
instructional material for the classroom |
