Mountain City Elementary supports the United Way.  The goal of the local chapter is to help improve the quality of life for Johnson County citizens.  One hundred percent of all funds raised remain in Johnson County.  Volunteers assist with all United Way events; therefore, the organization has no salary expense.  Agencies that request funding include local fire departments, Boy/Girls Scout Troops, American Red Cross, Johnson County 4-H Camp, Cancer Support Group, Safe Haven, Senior Citizen Center, Legal Aid, Community Center, City Parks and Recreation, Neighborhood Service Center, Positive Thinkers, and Santa’s Helping Hands.

      4-6 Class winner: Ms. Potter’s 3^rd grade
