Corn Waffles

2 egg yolks
1 ¼ cups milk
1 cup cream style corn
½ cup melted shortening
1 ¾ cups self rising flour
2 egg whites
Mix the egg yolks with a fork. Mix in milk, corn, and melted shortening. Measure flour. Pour into a large mixing bowl. Add the egg mixture to the flour. Stir until well blended.

Beat egg whites until they form stiff peaks. Fold the egg whites into the waffle batter.

Pour waffle batter onto a greased waffle baker. Close the lid and bake. Waffles are done when the steam stops escaping from the sides.

 

Grilled Corn

½ cup butter
½ teaspoon each salt, rosemary, and marjoram
6 ears of corn
Cream together the butter and spices. Pull the husks back and wash the corn. Remove the silks. Spread the corn with the butter spice mixture. Replace the husks. Wrap the corn in foil. Grill over hot coals for 12 to 15 minutes until corn is tender.
