Plains Exhibit

A Plains Indian camp was set up as part of our museum. A live-sized teepee, travois, and campfire made the campsite look as if they were part of a real Indian village.

The travois was used for carrying heavy loads. It was attached to a dog's back in the early years. After the Spanish came it was attached to the horse's back. exhibit24.JPG (34976 bytes)
