LEAPS

 (Lottery Education After School Programs)

            In February 2006, MCE received a state awarded LEAPS grant. The LEAPS grant operates in partnership with Kids’ Country Child Care Program and the extended learning program. LEAPS provides a focus on reading, math, science, nutrition, fitness, and technology. Funding provides money to hire certified teachers to provide tutoring and enrichment in the academic areas. Partnerships with other agencies and community resources such as the U.T. Extension Service and AmeriCorps help us provide enrichment in fitness, nutrition, art, music, dance, and service learning.
