Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

Monday, March 3, 2008

 

I.                    Pajama Day

  • Correspondence will be sent home to parents announcing that Monday, March 3rd students and staff may wear appropriate pajamas to school.

II.                Food Preparation

  • Cafeteria staff will celebrate Dr. Seuss Day with green eggs and ham on Monday, March 3rd.

III.            Classroom Teachers

  • May read Dr. Seuss book(s) to class on various days  leading up to Dr. Seuss celebration

  • May do some form of art work with students relating to Dr. Seuss

  • May select various activities available online (websites on next page below) and may be used on the SmartBoard that includes writing, art, etc.

IV.             Outside Reading

  • Have invited high school athletes/cheer leaders (former students of MCE) to read Dr. Seuss books to each grade level PK- Grade 6.  Will host a reception for all outside readers.  Staff is asked to provide light snacks appropriate for the reception.

  • Have invited Mr. Eggers to read a Dr. Seuss book to grades PK-3

  • Will schedule outside readers with classroom teachers as the readers are confirmed.
