Pepsico Awards for the Third Nine Weeks K: Weston Robinson 1st: Philip Dugger 2nd: Christina Hampton 3rd: Caleb Throop 4th: Cheyenne Matheson 5th: Evan Lewis 6th: Andy Woods AmeriCorps Projects Mrs. Johnson’s 4th grade class has been studying the “Protecting You, Protecting Me” curriculum. The students have been learning about alcohol and its effects. They have developed a public service announcement, which they will enter in a contest. Guest speakers from our community have visited the students and spoken on the effects of alcohol. There will be future activities with this project. Mrs. Clark’s 4th grade class has been learning about first aid. They have demonstrated the proper technique for bandaging to another class. They will be making their own first aid kits. Mrs. Walters’ 5th grade class has been studying about homeless people. The students conducted a drive to collect clothing. They collected 1231 pounds of clothes and donated all of it to Hale Ministries. Mrs. Rouse’s 6th grade class has been studying various drugs and their effects. They have created a public service announcement, which they will enter in a contest. Kids’ Country students are participating in a “Pennies for Pets” project. They have raised $360.65 for the Johnson County Humane Society. |
