     MCE’s attendance is 95.1%.

                   Writing

We have increased our writing score again.  Our score is 3.9.

 Report Card Celebration

     Students celebrated our good report card grades by holding an assembly in the gym.  Each grade level performed a math cheer before the entire student body and school staff.  The cheers were judged by a panel of judges.  Winners were second grade from the K-3 level and fifth grade from the 4-6th grade level. The winners were treated to a movie and popcorn.  

MCE Cafeteria Awards

     “Healthy Eating Awards” go to Laura Austin and Megan Rice for making healthy eating choices.  Congratulations on making wise and healthy eating choices!

 

Computers for Students

     Two MCE students will be receiving a computer and internet services from the Johnson County Board of Education’s “Computers for Students” program.  Congratulations to Evan Lewis and Angie Brown.

 National Textiles Mini Grants

     Teachers at our school wrote and received $3,788.57 in mini grants from National Textiles.  We appreciate their monetary support.  Thank you!

 Writers of the Week

     We want to congratulate the following students on being recognized as “Writer of the Week”:  Lindsey Osborne, Kassi Foley, Shane Greer, Spencer Stanley, Morgan Eggers, Zach Isaacs, MacKenzie Leonard, Cortney Wilson, Ryan Ollinger, Saira Knight,  Patricia Brown, Hannah Woods and Stephen King.

 McTeacher’s Night

     Our school took in a total of $847.00 on McTeacher’s Night at McDonald’s.  Thank you McDonald’s for giving us this opportunity to earn money! 

Spelling Bee Winner

     The school wide spelling bee winner is Ryan Gambill from Mrs. Johnson’s fourth grade class.  Congratulations, Ryan!

     The county wide spelling bee will be January 22, 2007, at 6:00 at Roan Creek Elementary.  Snowdate: February 5th.
