National Physical Fitness Test

     Students in grades four through six participated in the National Physical Fitness Test.  Six tests were included:  sit-ups, pull-ups, flexed arm hang, shuttle run, one mile run, and sit-reach.  Fourth grade students passing all six tests were Cody Hampton, Warren Kerley, Jordan Grubb and Robert Bower.   The following students in fourth grade passed 5 out of 6 tests:  Brianna Capps, Austin Norris, Ryan Sauer, Jake Greer, David Jenkins, Brianna Miller and Lisa Potter.  In fifth grade Tyler Shaw, Rebekka Cox and Sydney Perez passed all six tests.  The following students in fifth grade passed 5 out of 6 tests:  Mikey Furchess and Matt Douglass.  In sixth grade  Caitlin Westphal, Andy Woods, Judd Hammons, Kelsey Graybeal, Austin Arnold and Jimmy Morefield passed all six tests.  The following students in sixth grade passed 5 out of 6 tests:  Michael Blevins, Dustin Knighten, Sydney Easley, Logan Taylor, Aaron Duke, Chris Poteet, Josh Eller, Porsha Suggs and Chase Kleine.

PTO Officers for 2007-08

     The PTO met in April and elected the following officers for next year:

   President – Freida Dugger

   Vice President – Samantha Shaver

   Secretary – Amanda McGlamery

   Treasurer – Carrie Osborne

 

Presidential Academic Excellence Awards

     The twenty-first Johnson County Presidential Academic Excellence Awards ceremony was held on April 30, 2007, at Johnson County High School.  .  Ten of our sixth grade students qualified for this award.  They are Aaron Duke, Lori Eller, Zachary Isaacs, Chase Kleine, Jacob McGlamery, Andrea McKinney, Jimmy Morefield, Chris Poteet, Anna Snyder and Ryan Whitener. 

     Congratulations to these students who have attained academic excellence.

     This is the first year our school has had 100% of our students to participate in the TCAP test.  Thank you to all parents and students for your help and support!

Open House

     Everyone is invited to attend our Open House.  It will be held on Tuesday, August 14th, 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Mark your calendar now.

Luau Walkathon

    Our fundraiser for 2007-08 will be a walkathon with a Luau theme.  We will hold it on Thursday, August 30st.  It is our one and only fundraiser so please volunteer to help.

August 9th:  First full day of school

August 14th:  Open House, 6:30-8:00

August 30th:  Luau Walkathon

Aug. 31-Sept. 3:  Vacation/Labor Day
