Experiment 1
Cut several varieties of fruit into pieces.
Have students locate and remove the seeds.
Discuss if all fruit has seeds. Do all seeds look the same? Do all types of fruit have the same number of seeds?

Place a variety of dried beans into a plastic bag with a wet paper towel.
Have students observe the changes for several days.
Open the sprouting seeds and find the plant inside.
Have students draw and label the parts of the sprouting seed.
