scrounging - scrounge  'skraunj   - to get as needed by or as if by foraging, scavenging, or borrowing - to search about and turn up something needed from whatever source is available.

In Chapter 2 Mario tries to convince Mama to keep the cricket by telling her how crickets can tell the temperature. Try an experiment on you own to see if this works.

Make a cricket from a clothes pin. We used a green pipe cleaner for legs and antennae, tissue paper for wings, and wiggle eyes.
