Chapter 4 Activities

1. Patricia MacLachlan names a number of  wild flowers   in this chapter. Make a list of the flowers mentioned.
   • Assign one flower to each students. Have students draw pictures of their assigned flowers. Put together a class book.
   • Have students make "Save the Wildflowers" poster.
   • Using a wildflower field guide identify wildflowers that grow in your area. Put together a collection of drawings. Write a description of each flower including when it blooms, has berries, etc.
   • Compare the wildflowers to the cultivated flowers mentioned in Chapter 7.
