Vocabulary - The Feudal System
king - crowned ruler of a territory or country called a kingdom
lord - owned land that was given by the king
lady - woman of nobility
knight - a class of the lower nobility charged with fighting for the lord and maintaining lordship
page - the youngest term of a knight's training, usually held by boys from eight to thirteen
squire - a young man in training to become a knight
serf - a peasant, the lowest class in the feudal system
chancellor - any of various officials of high rank, especially a secretary to a noble
