Pyramids:
A pyramid is a massive structure built as a tomb or grave to house and protect the body of a pharaoh for the afterlife and as a monument to honor the pharaoh. It has four triangular sides that meet at a point. Pyramids were made from huge blocks of stone.

The Pyramids of Giza

Build a Pyramid

Add sand to the board. This model of pyramids resembles the Pyramids of Giza. This project was a lot of fun to make. We started by mixing white school glue and sand. We spread a layer of this over a piece of plywood.
Mix sand with glue. We made sure the board was completely covered. We had to let this dry overnight before adding anything else to our board.
Cut out triangles. For each pyramid we cut out four triangles from poster board. We covered them with a beige colored, self-adhesive paper.
Tape triangles together. Then we taped the four triangles together with masking tape. Next we covered the entire pyramid with plastic shelf paper. We used the non-glide variety. We thought this made the pyramid appear more life-like.
Use modeling clay to add details We made additional buildings, pyramids, and the Sphinx from a modeling compound.
