Book of the Dead:

The Book of the Dead is a term used to describe a text used in funerals and placed in tombs. It is usually inscribed on papyrus and includes about two hundred spells which were thought to aid and protect the dead in the afterlife. An individual Book of the Dead would contain a selection of  spells.

Make a Book of the Dead.

Make up a spell. Type the spell hieroglyphics using the Archibald font. After printing this out secure sticks to each end and roll it into a scroll.

After studying Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome our class put together an exhibit for our parents and school. Each person in the class chose one topic to research, and then built a display board, gathered all the related craft items we had made while studying each unit, and made costumes. Next we each planned a 30 second speech on our chosen topics. The exhibit was in our school cafeteria. We invited everyone in our school and our parents to attend.

The Tomahawk, our local newspaper, even sent a reporter to cover the event. It was great fun and we learned a lot.
