Science Fair
2007/2008 School Year

The Winners for the 2007/2008 School Year

Projects will be judged on 11/12/2007.

Second through sixth graders may set up in the cafeteria after 1:30 on Monday. Tables will be labeled for each teacher. Kindergarten and first grades may set up after 9:15 on Tuesday. Lunch will be in a bag on Tuesday and will be taken to the classroom. Teachers will supervise lunch. Posters will be displayed on the walls in the cafeteria.

Projects will be displayed in the cafeteria from 7:00 to 8:00 following the PTO meeting. Refreshments will also be provided.

All students will receive a ribbon. Classroom winners will receive a reward. The Science Fair is our Family Engagement activity for the year. A sign-up sheet will be provided.

Johnson County Leadership will be visiting the school and Science Fair on Tuesday afternoon.

General Rules and Regulations

  1. All exhibits will be turned in on the due date. Projects are due no later than March 19. No late exhibits accepted!

  2. Exhibits not taken home by the deadline will be discarded. Mountain City Elementary teachers or principals will not assume responsibility for loss or damage to any of the exhibits.

  3. Exhibits must conform to strict size limits--no more than 32 inches wide and no more than 36 inches deep. Exhibits should not exceed 48 inches height above the table surface.

  4. Exhibits must be free standing because they will not be near walls.

  5. Exhibits will have access to electrical power. If your project will need power, request one week in advance to due date.

  6. If a student wants to compete for an entry in the Upper East Tennessee Science Fair at E.T.S.U. in April, s/he must do a project that is an experiment.

    Experimental exhibits at the E.T.S.U. fair will be divided into two categories:
