When an Accident Occurs
If you
are at home
go to the basement. If your home does not
have a basement go to an inside room on the lowest floor. A bathroom or closet is
acceptable. Wrap yourself in blankets to protect yourself from flying debris.

If you
are in a school, hospital, factory, shopping center, etc.
go to an interior room or hallway on the
lowest floor. Stay away from glass or areas with wide-span roofs such as auditoriums.
Crouch down and cover your head. |
If you are in a high-rise building
go to interior small rooms or halls. Stay away from glass.
If you
are in a car or mobile home
leave them and go to a sturdy structure.
If you
are outside without a building nearby
lie flat in the nearest ditch or depression.
Use your hands to cover your head.
